On the right side of Chorokhi, near Usufel, stands a single-nave church of Akhalta (Kotsakhura). The church used to have a gable roof the hewn tiles of which have not survived. The building misses its facing masonry. The west doorway is badly damaged. The south wall and the sanctuary are pierced by one window each. The south and north walls of the hall are divided into two parts by means of pilasters above which is located an arch carrying the vault.

The lower part of the apse is almost rectangular and becomes round towards the top. It has small rectangular niches.

The church preserves plastering and mural fragments: the Deesis in the sanctuary and two crowned figures on the west wall.

The forms of various architectural elements of the building place the church sometime in the late Middle Ages (i.e. 14th-15th century).
