On the right side of the Potskhovi River, under Mere Fortress located on a hill, in the middle of a slope stands a hall-type church with an annexe. The building has lost its facing masonry the quality of which can only be deduced from the sockets for stones. Close observation shows that the church was bulit of fairly large blocks arranged in horizontal courses. The church has an annexe on the east part of the south wall, which is pierced by a door towards the south leadinginto an oblong hall articulated by a double arcade. A cornice of a triumphal arch provided with a simple profile survives.

Judging by its stylistic features, the church can be assigned to the 10th century.
