Fortress in Ghvada village

Location: Georgia, the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia,  Ochamchire municipality, village of Ghvada.  

Date of built: Middle Ages.

Architectural  description: Fortress was built out of  cobblestone. The building consist two towers. The western tower is bigger than the east. The fortress is built on the edge of the ravine.

Current condition: The territory is currently occupied by Russia, because of which it is impossible to study the current condition and to conduct the suitable works.  Fortress walls are in a heavy physical condition and need an urgent conservation.
