Sensop Church is erected on an ellevated plateau on the left bank of the Mtkvari gorge. Built in the 10th century, this hall-type church has an annexeon the east surrounded by a megalithic settlement site of a large radius.

The church is bulit of neatly cut grey stone and rust-coloured basalt arranged in horizontal courses.

The hall termiantes in a semi-circular apse. The apse window is flanked by small rectangular niches. The south and west windows are arched. The south wall, which used to be pierced by a door, is badly damaged. Of the south annexe only a west wall fragment preserves.

The interior masonry of the church survives, while the facades have fully lost their facing. The church is provided with a plain cornice which was covered with hewn tiles.
