Satle Church is a five-nave building incorporating three chronological layers. The oldest is a basilica erected in the late 9th and the early 10th century, to whicha double-nave basilicawas added in the middle of the 10th century. The basilica, the south nave of which is wider than the other, terminates in a sanctuary. In the 14th-15th century, asecond level chamber was inserted between them, the south wall of the three-nave basilica was demolished, the two churches were united and all five naves were surmounted by a gable roof.

The church is built of small roughly hewn stones of identical sizes. The windows and doorways are topped with relief ornaments. The medalions on the façades feature equilateral crosses. The church had doors from the south, west and the north, but the south and west doors are now filled in.  Under the whitewashed surfaces of the double-nave basilica are visible fragments of mural paintings. The chancel has an image of the icon of the Holy Face of the Saviour.
