Location: Georgia, the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Gali municipality, village of Chkhortoli.
Construction inside the complex: the church.
Date of built: 11th-19th centuries.
Architectural description: The church is a large hall construction, with the protruding apses. It has gates from the west side, the second floor of which was opening with the large arch inwards, as well as to the façade. Three large apertures are cut in the alter of the Cathedral. Here, in the north part of the alter there is an arched niche. The south and north walls of the church, each one has small window. The three walls of the church also have a small window each. The side wall door is of a rectangular shape, while from the west it is vaulted. In the interior of the church the walls are segmented with the two arcs. The pilasters have the profited capitals. The roof of the church is fully caved in. It must have had a girder floor, since the church walls are at the same height, however there is no trace of conch or arch.
Current condition: The territory is currently occupied by Russia, because of which it is impossible to study the current condition and to conduct the suitable works.
Chkhortoli church has been given the status of culture heritage monument.
